SUPPORTED LIVING AT BUCKSHAW RETIREMENT VILLAGE

OVERVIEW

Supported Living at Buckshaw Retirement Village is a highly specialised service designed to support people with dementia and their families. Although The Lodge is registered as a care home it is very definitely a care home with a difference! Our somewhat unique design features, skilled care and support team, unprecedented facilities and outstanding services, combine to make a profound difference to the quality of life of every resident, particularly those with dementia.

With this in mind, we provide security, familiarity, comfortable surroundings, inspiring activities and a level of care and support that is second-to-none.

Couples
As each resident has their own apartment at The Lodge it means that couples are able to remain together rather than separating at this crucial stage in their life. The staff are able to support the carer to continue with the care-giving role by providing practical, social and emotional support, as and when required.

Accommodation
We are delighted to have worked with Stirling University, who are the market leaders in dementia-friendly design, from the offset – and very proud to have received the first ever Gold Standard accreditation for Buckshaw Retirement Village. What we offer are individual apartments which allow residents to function as independently as possible in a safe, secure and familiar environment. Each apartment has its own lounge, bathroom and kitchen facility.

Market Square
Exclusive to Buckshaw Retirement Village is the innovative and self-contained Market Square with its potting shed, village pub, cinema, pet store, hair and beauty salon, tea shop, corner shop and bakery designed to evoke pleasant memories and provide gentle reminders of everyday living. This safe and stimulating environment is a great place for social interaction and an ideal venue for any number of activities and events.

Events
Our daily events programme provides cognitive stimulation and meaningful occupation.

Nursing Care
Our promise is to provide the very best in nursing care, with the greatest respect for independence and dignity at all times. Our teams of nursing staff and carers are in constant attendance, 24 hours a day, and working together, provide a wide range of social events alongside care requirements.
